Blue Jays win with big 7th inning

The Woodroe Realty Blue Jays used a big 7th inning pursing to beat the Athletics 4 – 0 in youth baseball action Thursday night.

The game was  0 – 0 until the 7th when the Blue Jays finally got on the score board to break the stalemate with hits from Preston and Carter Woodworth, Brody Fry, Brady Christaansen, and Aidan Papaj.  Christaansen, and Papaj each drove in 2 runs each.

Jimmy Dieter pitched 3 strong innings with 5 strikeouts.  Brody Fry, Carter Woodworth, and Preston Woodworth each pitched one inning.   Brady Christaansen pitched final inning and had 3 strikeouts to maintain the shutout.

Colton Smith, Aiden Wisniewski, and William Tagg also added hits.

Nationals 10, Athletics 9
A strong outing by the Mark’s Pizzeria Nationals with Brandon Christiaansen leading the way for a narrow win over the Athleics with 5 RBIs, throwing 7 strikeouts, and only allowing 1 run.

Solid plate appearances by Julio and Carlos Doval each going 4 for 4 reaching base.  Breydin Mcewn-Miller had a breakout 3 RBI triple.  Austin Tompkins and Aidan Owczarczak contributed with doubles of their own.
