Blue Jays top Cubs to gain playoff finals

Remaining undefeated, the Woodroe Realty Blue Jays posted their 11 straight win of the season by downing the VFW Cubs 18 -3 Saturday to advance to the playoff championship game.

Pounding out a total of 24 hits, the Blue Jays bats were on fire posting 6 runs each in the first, third and fifth innings.

Brody Fry led batting with 2 singles a home run and 5 RBI’s. Carter Woodworth had 2 doubles and a single with 3 RBI’s and Jimmy Dieter went 3 for 3 with 2 RBI’s. Brady Christaansen also had 2 singles and a double, Colton Smith  2 singles a double and 2 RBI’s, Aidan Papaj  2 singles and 1 RBI, Aiden Wisniewski  2 singles and a double with 2 RBI’s and Joseph Reese 2 singles and 3 RBI’s. Preston Woodworth and Steven Gobeli each added a hit.

Carter Woodworth, Dieter, and  Papaj pitched strong for the Blue Jays logging 7 strikeouts over 5 innings.

Blue Jays head to championship game Wednesday Night 6 p.m. at Butts Park to face the Roy-Hart Yankees.
