The Woodroe Realty Blue Jays Blanked the Medina Athletics 5-0 in the first round of the playoffs Thursday.

Blue Jay pitching and defense only allowed one hit through 6 innings.  Brody Fry pitched the first 3 innings recording 8 strikeouts, Jimmy Dieter pitched 2 innings recorder 3 strikeouts, and Carter Woodworth pitched one inning recording 2 strikeouts.

For the A’s Lukas Grimes hit a nice bomb to right field for the A’s only hit, but William Tagg tracked down the ball and relayed to Preston Woodworth to keep the hit from becoming a home run.  The Blue Jay’s defense recorded all the other outs at first base on 4 batters that hit the ball.

The Blue Jays offense got off to slow start due to strong pitching by the A’s pitcher Grimes.

Dieter hit a nice single to start off the second inning followed by an RBI hit by Aidan Papaj.

William Tagg opened the third inning with a single, then Preston Woodworth hit a two-run home run.

In the fourth inning Carter Woodworth and Fry opened up scoring with 2 solo home run shots.  Aiden Wisniewski and Brady Christaansen each added a hit.

Next round of playoffs is Saturday at 10 a.m. at Butts Park against the Medina VFW Cubs.
