Blue Jays improve to 5-0 in youth baseball

Aidan Papaj delivers a pitch for the Blue Jays

The Blue Jays stayed unbeaten at 5-0 in Medina youth baseball action by scoring a 9-3 win over the Red Sox 9-3 today at Butts Park.

Carter Woodworth led the Jays batting with 2 run home runs, one in the first inning and one in the sixth.  Brody Fry added a single, triple and a home run with 2 RBI’s and Preston Woodworth had a solo home run  to start off sixth inning.

Brady Christaansen went 3 for 3  and Jimmy Dieter added a single and a double with a RBI. Joseph Reese, Steven Gobeli  Aidan Papaj  each had 2 singles, and Colton Smith and Aiden Wisniewski each had a hit.

Papaj pitched strong first 3 inning and had 8 strikeouts, Preston Woodworth pitched one inning and added 2 strikeouts,  Fry came on in the fifth inning and recorded 3 strikeouts, and Dieter finished the game with 3 strikeouts.

Mets 18, Twins 9

Leading the charge for the Mets were Hunter Stephens, Jackson Moreland and Lam Castricone all with 2 hits.  Stephens had a 2 run home run and a single, Jackson Moreland 2 doubles and Castricone  2 singles. Jakob Rissew, Noah Skinner, Mason Moreland and Luke Wagner each chipped in with a single.

Stephens also had another throw out at second from catcher.

On the mound Justin Pitts had 6 strike outs over 3 innings and Rissew  4.
