Blue Jays capture playoff championship

Completing an undefeated (13-0) season, the Woodroe Realty Blue Jays downed the Roy-Hart Yankees 9 -1 in the N-O Youth Baseball Minor Boys playoff championship game Wednesday evening at Buts Park.

The Blue Jays broke the game open early slugging out 3 runs in the first inning and 6 more in the third.

Brody Fry led the Jays attack with a two-run home run in the first inning and a two run double in the third. Aiden Wisniewski had 2 singles and 2 RBI’s, Jimmy Dieter a single and a double with 1 RBI, Brady Christaansen  a single and a double, Aidan Papaja single and 1 RBI, Carter Woodworth  a double and 1 RBI, Colton Smith a double and Preston Woodworth a single and triple. Joseph Reese, and Steven Gobeli each added a hit.

Fry pitched 3 scoreless innings logging 7 strikeouts,  Papaj pitched 2 strong innings and had 2 strikeouts, and Jimmy Dieter closed out the game and added a strikeout.

For the Yankees, Braden Ricker and Nick Preston each pitched well, and Garrett Glyshaw had the home run.
