Blue Devils surge past Mustangs
Pulling away in the second half, East Aurora/Holland romped to a 40-6 victory over visiting Medina/Lyndonville this evening in the B East Division opener for both teams.
Leading by a narrow 13-6 margin at the half, the Blue Devils scored two unanswered touchdowns in both the third and fourth quarters to pull away. Nolan O’Connor had a touchdown run in each quarter as Matt Boss passed to Brady Tehan for the other third quarter TD and Owen Smith had a TD run in the final stanza.
O’Connor also ran 14 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter and passed 26 yards to Zach Jones for another score in the second quarter to give the Blue Devils an early 13-0 lead.
The Mustangs though answered back with a 29 yard touchdown pass from quarterback Izaiah Rhim to Jalin Cooper to cut the deficit to 13-6.
A 26 yard run by Eric Neace, who had a total of 108 yards rushing on the evening, set up that score.
