Unable to get the offense untracked, Holley dropped a 49-0 decision to visiting Attica this afternoon in the Genesee Region League season finale ending the Hawks hopes for gaining a sectional playoff berth.

Attica jumped out to a commanding 21-0 first half lead on touchdown runs of 1, 5 and 6 yards by Hunter McCullough and 3 extra point kicks by Nelson Dawson who went 7 for 7 on the day.

The Blue Devils defense limited the Holley offense to just 1 first down and a total of only 5 yards on four possessions in the first half.

Attica put a firm lock on the victory by scoring two quick touchdowns in a span of just 15 seconds early in the third quarter on runs of 13 and 5 yards by McCullough. A Holley fumble at the Hawks 5 yard line set up the second tally.

McCullough then capped off his huge 6 touchdown day with a 97 yard scoring run on the final play of the third quarter upping the Blue Devils lead to 42-0.

Holley’s best drive of the day came in the third quarter as runs of 11 and 8 yards by Colin Papaj and of 8 and 8 by Zach Day helped the Hawks advance to the Blue Devils 1 yard line only to have a penalty help to stall out the drive.

Day had a big day defensively for the Hawks making no less than 7 tackles for either a loss or no gain including a sack.

Attica finishes the regular season at 4-1 in the league and 4-3 overall while Holley winds up at 2-3, 3-4.
