Big second quarter powers Panthers past Bulls
A big four touchdown second quarter scoring burst ignited Newfane to a 43-11 win over visiting Roy-Hart/Barker this evening in a C North Division game.
Trailing 3-0, Newfane rallied into a commanding 27-3 half-time advantage as quarterback Nate Snow ran for two touchdowns on carries of 18 and 9 yards and also threw a pair of TD strikes of 10 yards to Isaiah Gerstung and 28 yards to Ben Dickinson in the decisive second quarter.
The Panthers other two touchdowns came in the third quarter on a 10 yard run Ayden Buttery and a 20 yard interception retun by Snow.
Roy-Hart/Barker took a 3-0 lead in the first quarter on a 27 yard field goal by Jon Konstanty. The Bulls, which had turnovers spoil two drives into Newfane territory in the third quarter, finally got on the scoreboard again in the fourth quarter on a 16 yard touchdown run and a two-point conversion carry by Aidan Mescal.
Newfane is now 2-0 in the division which Roy-Hart/Barker is 0-1 in the division and 1-1 overall.
