Big second quarter keys win for Lady Tigers
A big second quarter scoring surge sparked Lyndonville to a 42-26 victory over host Roy-Hart this evening in the non league season opener for both teams.
Leading by a narrow 7-5 margin early in the second period, Lyndonville exploded for a 19-2 scoring run over the rest of the quarter to open up a commanding 26-7 halftime advantage.
Addison Dillenbeck scored 11 of her game high 17 points, including two threes, to spearhead that uprising which also included 4 points by both Shelby Boring and Ashlee Stephens.
Boring finished with 11 and Stephens and Lorelei Dillenbeck 7 each.
The Lady Tigers maintained a 21 point, 25-14, advantage after three quarters.
Kaitlin Mettler led Roy-Hart with 14 as Juliana Buscarino had 4 and Lila Brigham, Alexis Cacciatore, Madison DiNieri and Juliana Terwilliger 2 each.
Lyndonville next hosts Albion and Roy-Hart entertains Alden on Tuesday.
Attica 39, Albion 38
Attica scored in the final seconds to nip host Albion 39-38 in another non league opener.
Olivia Colon Mercado scored the game winning basket for Attica with 10 seconds to go.
Mackenzie McLeod scored 10 and Madalyn Robinson 9 to pace Attica.
Madison Hughson took game high honors with 26 for Albion which led 24-22 at the half.
