Big first half keys M-L United U17 to win
Building up a 3-0 half-time advantage, front-running Medina-Lyndonville United went on to defeat the host Niagara Pioneer Gunners 4-1 Monday evening in a Buffalo and Western New York Soccer League U17 Division game.
Improving to 4-0, M-L United built up the big half-time lead on goals by Zaric Boyce, Jack Whipple and Sam Kingsbury.
Niagara got on the scoreboard at the outset of the second half but M-L United got that one right back as Devin Rounds netted the clincher.
M-L United, which is now a half game ahead of 3-0 Niagara-Wheatfield, next visits South Buffalo on Wednesday.
Holley U17 holds lead
Font-running Holley played to a 3-3 tie with runner-up Scottsville Sunday evening to maintain a hold on first place in the Rochester District Youth Soccer League Boys U17 Division.
Holley, which lost to Scottsville 3-2 earlier in the season, improves to 6-1-3 while Scottsville is 5-1-4.
Girls U17
Host Lancaster-Depew blanked the Medina/Roy-Hart Lady Rams 2-0 Monday evening in a Buffalo and WNY Soccer League U17 contest.
The Lady Rams are now 2-1-2
