Big early inning sparks Albion to win over Medina in N-O softball

A big two out, early inning scoring burst sparked Albion to a 10-6 win over Medina in a Niagara-Orleans League softball game at Vets Park this afternoon.

Breaking away from a 1-1 deadlock, Albion regained the lead for good by erupting for 5 runs with two out in the second inning on a two-run triple by Cami London, an RBI triple by Madison Hughson, a single by Alana Irvine and an error. A leadoff double by Janessa Lindsey ignited the uprising.

London also had a two-run double and Mackenzie Snook an RBI single in the fifth inning and Hughson an RBI single in the first.

Rylee VanNostrand had RBI singles in both the first and seventh innings for Medina which also got triples from Iyla Lilleby and Eva Lacy and an RBI single from Baileigh McAdoo in the third and an RBI single by Sophia Goyette in the sixth.

Albion is now 2-4 and Medina 1-6 in N-O action.

Adella Dukes had a home run and a double, Kaitlin Mettler 2 singles and a triple, Peyton May a double and single and Abby Fox and Lila Brigham 2 singles each to lead the offense for Roy-Hart.

In the circle, Millie Owen registered 10 strikeouts for the Lady Rams.
