Big early inning powers Roy-Hart past Albion
Building up a big early lead, Roy-Hart went on to defeat host Albion 11-1 this afternoon improving the Rams Niagara-Orleans League record to 8-3.
Up 1-0, Roy-Hart broke the contest wide open by exploding for 7 runs in the second inning. The decisive uprising included a two-run double by Dawson Draper, two singles by Rem Albee, a double by Zach Walker and an RBI sacrifice fly by Brayden Hy.
The Rams extended the lead to 11-0 as Albee had an RBI single in the third inning and Thomas Russo a solo home run in the fifth.
Russo and Albee both finished with 3 hits.
Russo and Sean Mettler split the pitching duties for the Rams allowing 5 hits and striking out 9.
Dallas Ecker had 2 hits for Albion which is now 4-5.
Roy-Hart closes out its N-O campaign at Barker on Friday.
Albion next hosts Wilson at 10 a.m. Saturday in a make-up contest.
Byron-Bergen 6, Holley 5
Trailing 5-3, Byron-Bergen rallied for 3 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to earn a narrow 6-5 win over Holley in a Genesee Region League game.
Miles Lammes, Seth Janus and Will Kruger each had 2 hits for Holley.
