Bees sting Tigers in G-R mat opener
Byron-Bergen opened defense of its Genesee Region League title by defeating host Lyndonville 53-19 this evening.
Pins by Jared Fregue (170), Will Thompson (182) and Brendan Marsocci (285), along with a technical fall victory by Chad Toal (126), highlighted the victory for Byron-Bergen which also benefitted from five forfeit wins.
Jeff Gress Jr. (132) won by major decision and Chase Stinson (120) by decision for Lyndonville which also picked up 12 points on two forfeit wins.
Lyndonville next competes in the Chruchville-Chili Tournament on Saturday.
