Bees down Tiger cagers

Pulling away in the second quarter, Byron-Bergen went on to defeat visiting Lyndonville 64-48 this evening in a Genesee Region League boys basketball game.

Up 19-12 after one period, Byron-Bergen used a 16-6 second quarter scoring surge to open up a 35-18 advantage at the half. The Bees maintained a 46-33 lead at the three-quarter mark.

Phillip Gresham scored 11, Justin Edwards 10 and Ty Hrovat 9 to lead the way for Lyndonville. Pat Hinkson added 8, Brandon Schoolcraft 4 and Evan Milleville and AJ Buckland 3 each for the Tigers.

Notre Dame 87, Holley 41
A total of 15 first half turnovers proved costly as Holley bowed 87-41 to host Notre Dame in a G-R contest.

Corey Winter had 15 points and Josh Porter 12 for Holley.

Wilson 40, Akron 38
Wilson (2-4) edged past host Akron (1-6) 40-38 this evening in a Niagara-Orleans League game on a three point basket by Evan Shank at the buzzer.
