Bears down Hawks in 8 Man football contest
Regaining the .500 mark at 2-2, Frewsburg downed host Holley/Lyndonville 43-12 in an 8 Man Division football game this afternoon.
Quarterback Trent Lewis ran for 4 touchdowns and passed for another to spearhead the offense for the Bears which led 7-6 after the first quarter, 21-6 at the half and 36-12 after three quarters. Harrison Eckert caught the touchdown pass and also had a rushing TD.
Holley/Lyndonville did grab a quick 6-0 lead as quarterback Destin Kuyal broke loose for a 40 yard touchdown run just 1:14 into the game.
However, the Hawks lead lasted only 20 seconds as the Bears answered right back with a 50 yard TD run by Lewis and an extra point kick to take the lead for good at 7-6.
Holley/Lyndonville’s only other touchdown came on a 33 yard run by Hunter Smith in the third quarter.
Now at 1-3, the Hawks next host Wellsville at 7 p.m. Friday.
