Batavia tops Albion in softball opener

Batavia bested visiting Albion 25-20 in a high scoring non league softball opener this afternoon.

Andrea Aman had four hits for Albion as Ellen Narburgh and Natalie DiCureia both had three and Olivia Prest and Savannah Allen two each.

Prest’s hits included a home run and Narburgh’s a triple. Aman and Narburgh both drove in three runs.

Trailing 25-12, Albion rallied for eight runs in the seventh inning but the comeback bid fell short.

Albion next hosts Medina on Mondaty in the Niagara-Orleans League opener.

Byron-Bergen 17, Holley 2

Three home runs in the first inning sparked Byron-Bergen to a 17-2 victory over visiting Holley today in the Genesee Region League softball opener.

Brooklyn Bartholomew had a double and Maddy Papaj a single for Holley.
