Batavia girls post win over Albion

Pulling away in the middle two quarters, Batavia posted a 50-36 victory over host Albion this evening in a non league girls basketball game.

Up by a narrow 14-12 margin at the end of the first quarter, Batavia went on to outscore Albion 27-13 over the middle two periods to open up leads of 27-16 at the half and 41-25 at the three-quarter mark.

Essense Williams scored 12, Madison McCulley 11 and Tiara Filbert 9 to lead Batavia.

Chanyce Powell and Justice Nauden each scored 13 for Albion as Mandi Covis and Sarah Metzler both added 4 and Savannah Allen 2.

Albion next visits Brockport next Tuesday in another non league game.
