Barre scores 1 run Midget League win
Barre edged past Elks/Rotary 5-4 in an Albion Midget League game on Tuesday.
Barre took the lead for good by scoring twice in the first inning on singles by Luke Snyder and Jacob Wright. Barre added two more runs in the third and one in the fifth.
Elks/Rotary scored solo runs in both the fourth and fifth innings and two in the sixth but left two runners stranded. Evan Coots and Rocco Sidari combined for 14 strikeouts for Elks/Rotary.
Elba ‘B’ 8, Sandstone 2
Sawyer Gaylord hit a solo home run and Carter Gubb had a double and 2 RBI to lead the way for Elba ‘B’ as Josh Baldwin pitched three scoreless innings.
Brycen Potter had 3 hits for Sandstone.
Holley ‘B’ 12, Holley ‘A’ 6
In a game played last week, Avery Haggerton and Jeremy Rivera both had 3 hits for Holley ‘B’ as Landon Schmidt and Jackson Spencer both added 2. Haggerton drove in 3 runs.
On the mound, Phillip Dotson and Bryson Phillips combined for 12 strikeouts.
