Barre has 3 win week in Albion Midget League

Front-runing Barre scored three victories, 11-7 over St. Mary’s, 9-6 over Sandstone and 13-2 over Vets, this past week to improve to 11-0 in Albion Midget League competition.

The first two contests were close as Barre had to score 4 runs in the seventh to snap a 7-7 tie with St. Mary’s and then tallied twice in the fourth to break a 6-6 deadlock with Sandstone.

Tyler Gibson and Cade Wolcott both had multiple hit games  for Barre against St. Mary’s. Wolcott drove in 4 runs.

St. Mary’s came back from a 7-3 deficit against Barre with Christian Swiercznski and Reuben Rivers both hitting 2-run doubles off Barre ace pitcher Tyler Gibson in the fifth inning. The game went into extra innings.

Gibson, Wolcott, Jason Conn, Austin Narburgh, Josh Bovenzi and Brad Martin all had multiple hit games for Barre against Sandstone. Narburgh’s hits included a triple and Martin’s a key two-run single.

Chris Sacco had a two-run double and Caleb Fox a pair of hits for Sandstone.

Wolcott drove in a total of 7 runs with a single and 2 doubles in Barre’s win over Vets. He plated 3 of the tallies during a big 6 run second inning.

On the mound, Wolcott pitched the first 4 innings allowing just 2 hits and striking out 9. Gibson came on to get the final 6 outs.

The Vets topped St. Mary’s, 13-2, on Thursday. Adrian Kingdollar pitched a complete game for the Vets and also hit a home run. Bobby Dysard had three hits, including a triple, and Seth Janus and Bryer Dysard both had four singles.

Nick Radder hit a long double for St. Mary’s to bring in a run with Nick Andrews got the other run home with an RBI single. Kyle Radder had three hits in his first start for St. Mary’s.
