Barre caps off regular season with 2 wins
Barre scored a pair of make-up game wins this week to complete a near perfect 12-1 regular season and lock up the No. 1 seed for the upcoming playoffs in Albion Midget League 12U Division competition.
Barre downed Sandstone 5-2 and Holley ‘A’ 22-3.
Kyler Bennett, Brody Furness and Robbie Hickman all had hits to highlight a 4 runs third inning which keyed Barre to the win over Sandstone.
Owen Legen then tripled and came home on a single by Hickman for Barre’s other run in the fifth inning.
A single by Eli Johnson and a fielders choice play off the bat of Blake Brown drove in Sandstone’s two runs.
Furness, Hickman, Jacob Wright, Alden McCarthy and Wesley Ayrault then all had multiple hit games in Barre’s win over Holley ‘A’.
Carlton 6, Hamlin ‘A’ 0
Luke Bedford pitched a complete game with 14 strikeouts for Carlton in the win over Hamlin ‘A’.
At the plate for Carlton, Demetrius Ryan-Mincey had 3 hits and Caden Woolston 2 as Gavin Standish, Connor Hinkley and Caleb Fisher all added doubles and Jaxon Narburgh a single.
The 8 seeded teams for next week’s playoffs, in order, are as follows: Barre 12-1, Elba ‘B’ 10-3, Rotary 9-3, Hamlin ‘A’ 7-3, Carlton 6-5, Sandstone 5-7, Elba ‘A’ 3-8 and Hamlin ‘B’ 2-8.
