Barna caps collegiate lacrosse career

Having made strong contributions two collegiate lacrosse programs, Medina High graduate Kyle Barna recently competed his senior season at Lake Erie College in Ohio which was cut short when the coronavirus pandemic caused the remainder of the schedule to be cancelled.
When competition was halted for the season Barna was leading the Storm offensively with 15 points on 12 goals and three assists. He tied his single game career high of four goals in a game against LeMoyne, which was ranked No. 2 in the nation.
Barna began his collegiate career at Pfeiffer University in North Carolina where he earned All-Conference honors after a big 52 goal season.
He transferred to Lake Erie and in his first full season with the Storm last year he had 26 goals and 10 assists for a total of 36 points which was third highest on the team.
Highlighting that season was Barna’s four goal, two assist effort against Merrimack College as the Storm just missed upsetting the No. 1 ranked Warriors which went on to win the national title.
A strong offensive player, Barna has also shown his defensive prowness having totaled 70 ground balls.
For his collegiate career, Barna finished with a total of 93 goals and a total of 108 points when assists are added in.
During his scholastic career at Medina, Barna had a total of 280 points on 181 goals and 99 assists.
