Barker wins Midget ‘A’ season opener

Led by a strong pitching performance, Barker bested Lockport 1 10-1 this evening in a season opening Lockport Midget A League game under the lights at Gasport.
Eddie Wasnock hurled a 1 hitter with 12 strikeouts to set the pace for Barker.
Breaking a scoreless deadlock, Barker scored the only 2 runs it needed in the fourth inning on a single by Brad Wilson and a passed ball.
Barker then broke the contest open by erupting for 5 runs in the fifth inning highlighted by two-run singles by Devon Mangan and Chauncy McKee.
Barker capped off the win by scoring 3 times in the seventh on a two-run single by Kyle MacDonald and an RBI single by McKee.
