Barker upends Akron in N-O softball opener
Barker opened the Niagara-Orleans League softball season on a high note this afternoon as the Bulldogs downed visiting defending champion Akron 8-2.
Barker moved on top for good by scoring twice in the fifth inning on a sacrifice fly by winning pitcher Peyton Bradley and a single by Rachel Sutter. A triple by Arnie Sturtevant and a single by Kaylee Stoll set up the threat.
The Bulldogs then put a lock on the win by scoring four times in the sixth inning on a run producing double by Sturtevant, RBI singles by Stoll and Madyson Flint and a fielders choice play. Singles by Elise Monaco and Macie May set up the opportunity.
