Barker track teams sweep Medina; Albion splits with Akron; Wilson sweeps Roy-Hart
Barker swept to a doubleheader victory over host Medina this afternoon in a Niagara-Orleans League track meet. The Raiders won the boys’ meet 74-67 and the girls’ 109-30.
Ian DiLorenzo doubled in the 110 Hurdles and 400 Hurdles, Dominic Clementi in the 200 and 400, Anthony Leising in the Pole Vault and Triple Jump and Andrew Jenks in the Shotput and Long Jump to lead the way for the Barker boys. Malik Smith also won the 100 for the Raiders.
Dan Heil doubled in the 800 and 1600 for Medina which also got wins from Lincoln Pace (High Jump), Trenton Crews (Discus), and Jack Hill (3200).
Katrina Clare doubled in the 200 and 400 to lead the way for the Barker girls as Madison Gancasz won the 100.
Olivia Carter was a triple winner for Medina in the Long Jump. Triple Jump and 400 Hurdles as Devin Griffin added a win in the High Jump.
Both Barker teams are 1-0 while both Medina teams are 0-2.
The Albion boys downed Akron 93 1/3-47 2/3 as Tre Yaskulski was a triple winner in the 110 Hurdles, High Jump and Triple Jump.
The Purple Eagles also had Bril Johnson win the 100, Sam Sanchez the 400, Nate Moore the Long Jump, Preston Flugel the Pole Vault and Anthony Freeman the 400 Hurdles.
Marcus Kenlein was a double winner for Akron in the Shotput and Discus.
Akron downed Albion 105-35 in the girls’ meet as Hailey Hall tripled in the 100, 200 and High Jump and Margo Henley in the 800, 1500 and 3000. Kara Sequin also doubled in the 100 Hurdles and 400 Hurdles.
The Albion boys are 1-0 and Akron 0-2. The Akron girls are 1-1 and Albion 0-1.
In the day’s other meet, Wilson swept Roy-Hart winning the boys’ meet 87-54 and the girls’ 83-58.
Marcus Schwarzmueller doubled in the 100 and 3200, Mason Secor in the Shotput and Discus and Marcell Wilson in the Long Jump and Triple Jump to lead the Wilson boys.
The Wilson girls had Grace Gerber double in the 100 Hurdles and 400 Hurdles, Shea Munnikhuyen in the Shotput and Triple Jump and Skylar Munnikhuyen in the High Jump and Long Jump.
Anna Rickard doubled for Roy-Hart in the 1500 and 3000.
Both Wilson teams are 1-0 while the Roy-Hart squads are both 1-1.
