Barker tops Medina in N-O softball
Lyndonville and Holley roll to G-R wins
Improving to 3-1, Barker defeated Medina 18-3 at Vets Park this afternoon in a Niagara-Orleans League softball game.
A three-run home run by Kelsey Blackley in the first inning got Barker off and rolling.
Blackley, Olivia Denny and Brooke Targus each finished with two hits for the Lady Raiders which added five runs in the third inning and eight in the seventh.
Erika Moeller allowed only three hits and struck out 13 in the circle for Barker.
Mallori Wienke had a home run for Medina which slips to 0-2.
In other N-O action, Wilson nipped Akron 4-3 on an RBI single by Alissa Dicesare in the bottom of the seventh inning. That hit drove in Allie Bubar who had reached on a single to set up the threat.
Wilson is now 2-0 and Akron 1-1.
Lyndonville 16, Attca 2
Scoring early and often, Lyndonville rolled to a 16-2 victory at Attica to go to 1-0 in Genesee Region League action and 3-0 overall.
Maddy Boyle hurled a two hitter with five strikeouts for Lyndonville.
At the plate, the Lady Tigers got three hits, including a double, from Madison Gardepe and two each from Morgan Hungerford and Jenna Castricone, with each including a double. Hungerford drove in a total of four runs.
The Lady Tigers scored three quick runs in the first inning and then added four more in both the third and fourth frames.
Holley 15, Wheatland-Chili 5
Capitalizing on a rash of walks, Holley posted a 15-5 victory over host Wheatland-Chili to improve to 1-1 in Genesee Region League action.
Sarah Wharram hurled a no hitter with three strikeouts in the circle for Holley. She also had a big day at the plate banging out three hits.
