Barker tops Medina in key field hockey game

Barker downed Medina 3-1 at Vets Park this evening to remain tied for the Niagara-Orleans League field hockey lead at 4-0 with Akron which downed Wilson 8-0.

Barker grabbed a 1-0 first half lead on a goal by Alexa Zglinicki but Medina pulled even early in the third quarter on a goal by Iyla Lilleby.

However, Barker answered with what proved to be the game winning goal by Zglinicki just four minutes later to regain the lead for good at 2-1.

Cole Carnes added an insurance goal for the Lady Raiders in the final period.

Lacey Berghorn scored 3 goals, Madison Brege 2 and Olivia McClaine, Nataie Ginestre and Iva Meyers 1 each for Akron.
