Barker tips R-H to claim N-O field hockey title

A lone early second half goal proved to be just enough to earn Barker a 1-0 victory over visiting Roy-Hart this afternoon to capture the Niagara-Orleans League field hockey championship.

Barker, which shared the N-O title with Akron last year, and Roy-Hart entered the regular season finale with identical 10-1 league records.

Kaedynce Schumacher scored the goal for Barker just 2:15 into the second half.

Paige Sandolfini earned the shutout in goal for Barker making 2 saves. Madison Gancasz and Schumacher also both had defensive saves for the Lady Raiders.

Medina 2, Wilson 0
Sarah Cochrane and Mary Flores each scored a goal, both of assists from Lacey Kenward, to lead Medina to a 2-0 win over host Wilson.

Alissa Blount and Tessa Pecoraro shared in earning the shutout in goal for the Mustangs.

Medina finishes the N-O season at 7-5 and Wilson at 4-8.

Newfane 2, Kenmore 0

Newfane blanked Kenmore 2-0 as both teams finish the N-O season at 1-11.
