Barker swims past Medina; Albion splits with Akron

Taking first place in every event, host Barker scored a sweep over Medina this afternoon to close out the duel meet portion of the Niagara-Orleans League swim season.

The Barker boys posted a 95-75 victory and the Lady Raiders earned a 109-61 win.

The Barker boys had a quartet of individual event double winners including Adam Wagner (200 Free, 500 Free), Andrew Jenks (200 Individual Medley, 100 Breaststroke), Collin Stevener (50 Free, 100 Butterfly) and Collin Webb (100 Free, 100 Backstroke).

The Barker boys finish the season nat 6-4 and Medina at 4-6.

The Lady Raiders were sparked by a trio of double winners including Christiana Carestia (200 Free, 500 Free), Sara Gendrue (200 Individual Medley, 100 Breaststroke) and Natalie Menz (50 Free, 100 Free).

The Barker girls wind up at 4-6 and Medina at 2-8.

Albion earned a split with Akron taking the boys meet 65-29 but losing the girls competition 71-23.

The Albion boys got wins from Matt Kovaleski (100 Butterfly), Carlitos Sanchez (100 Free), Devin Olles (50 Free) and Harrison Brown (200 Individual Medley).

Andrew Buyea was a double winner in the 200 Free and 500 Free for Akron.

The Albion boys finish at 8-2 and Akron at 0-10.

Julia Dieble doubled in the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Backstroke to lead the Akron girls.

Liz Furmanski won the 50 Free and Michaela Pantano the 100 Butterfly for Albion.

The Akron girls wind up at 7-3 and Albion at 0-10.
