Barker swimmers win 5 events at Class C meet

In a near instant replay of their recent success at the Niagara-Orleans All-League meet, Barker captured first place honors in five events at the Section VI Class C boys swim championships held today at Newfane.

Barker’s quartet of Collin Webb, Collin Stevener, Adam Wagner and Andrew Jenks won both the 200 Freestyle Relay (1:32.55) and the 400 Freestyle Relay (3:29.97).

Webb was also an individual event double winner taking both the 50 Free (:22.24) and 100 Free (:48.72) while Jenks added a victory in the 100 Butterfly (:59.61).

Host Newfane had a double winner in Andrew Hamelink who captured both the 200 Individual Medley (2:05.24) and the 100 Breaststroke (1:01.20).

The Panthers also had Thomas Schultz place second in the 500 Free and Zach Lundy second in the 100 Backstroke.

Roy-Hart’s Tanner Rees placed second in the 100 Breaststroke while Nate Mikol placed third in the 100 Free and fifth in the 50 Free. Mikol and Rees also teamed up with Jack Daly and Elliot Spitzer to place second in the 400 Free Relay.

Roy-Hart placed third in the team competition while Barker was fourth, Newfane fifth and Medina eighth. Panama took top team honors.
