Barker swimmers sweep Medina; R-H wins
Barker scored a sweep over visiting Medina this afternoon in a Niagara-Orleans League swim meet taking the boys’ competition 90-80 and the girls’ 91-79.
A win in the final event, the 400 Free Relay, by the quartet of Andrew Jenks, Adam Wagner, Collin Webb and Ryan Santarsiero locked up the victory for the Raiders.
Jenks also doubled in the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Butterfly, Wagner in the 200 Free and 100 Free and Webb in the 50 Free and 100 Back as Santarsiero took the 500 Free.
Medina’s Ray Paull won the 100 Breaststroke.
The Raiders improve to 3-1 while the Seahorses slip to 2-2.
The Barker girls got individual event wins from Natalie Menz (Individual Medley), Chloe Goodlander (100 Butterfly), Ella Gooding (500 Free), Natalie Bruning (100 Back) and Sara Gendrue (100 Breaststeoke).
Bruning, Gendrue, Menz and Goodlander also teamed up to win both the 200 Medley and 400 Free Relays.
Margaret Klotzbach was a double winner for Medina in the 200 Free and 100 Free while Hannah Heil captured the 50 Free.
Heil and Kotzbach also teamed up with Alyssa Beyer and Amanda Wooddruff to win the 200 Free Relay.
Barker is now 2-2 and Medina 1-3.
Roy-Hart sweeps Newfane
Roy-Hart likewise swept to a doubleheader victory over Newfane winning the boys’ meet 84-83 and the girls’ 95-75
A win in the 400 Free Relay by William Rickard, Michael Miller, Patrick Sheelar and Madigan Lang provided the margin of victory for the Roy-Hart boys. Rickard also won the 100 Free and Lang the 500 Free.
The Channel Cats are now 1-3 and the Panthers 0-3-1.
Amanda Hill doubled in the Individual Medley and Butterfly and Kayla Hagen in the 100 Free and 100 Backstroke to lead the way for the Roy-Hart girls. Hagen set a new school record in the 100 Free with a time of :56.91.
Roy-Hart is now 3-1 and Newfane 2-2.
