Barker scores narrow win in Class C field hockey sectional semifinals

Making a lone goal stand up, defending champion No. 1 seed Barker edged past No. 4 East Aurora 1-0 in the Section VI Class C semifinals this evening at Amherst.

Becky Stoloski scored the lone goal for Barker with 13:31 to go in the second half off an assist from Lydia Dewart. Kelsey Blackley started the decisive play with a pass to Gaby Clare who then passed to Dewart who in turn got the ball to Stoloski for the winning shot.

Caitlyn Mason earned the shutout in goal for the Lady Raiders making three saves.

Barker while next faces No. 2 Akron for the Class C title next Wednesday at Amherst at 5:30 p.m. Akron nipped No. 3 Wilson 2-1 in the other semi on a pair of first half goals by Molly Jennings.
