Barker rallies to win in 7th
Barker rallied for a run in the bottom of the seventh inning to nip visiting Lockport 1 8-7 this evening to stay unbeaten at 3-0 in the Lockport Midget ‘A’ League.A double by Preston Harris plated the game winner. Harris and Mike Snell both had 3 hits on the night.
Barker had jumped out to an early 5-0 lead after two innings but Lockport 1 rallied to knot the contest in the fourth.
A two-run triple by Brad Wilson put Barker back up 7-5 in the fifth but Lockport again answered with a pair of tallies in the top of the seventh to briefly retie the contest at 7-7.
Four players – Eddie Wasnock, Kyle MacDonald, Chauncy Mckee and Snell – shared in the pitching chores for Barker. Wasnock pitched the first three innings striking out 5.
Barker next hosts Lyndonville on June 28.
