Barker posts N-O softball shutout win
Barker blanked Newfane 15-0 this afternoon to improve to 3-1 in Niagara-Orleans League softball competition.
Maddy Flint hurled a 2 hitter with 10 strikeouts in the circle for Barker.
Natalie Brandel had 4 hits and Peyton Bradley 3 to lead the Lady Raiders at the plate.
Akron 7, Medina 2
Snapping a 2-2 tie, Akron erupted for five runs in the top of the seventh inning to down Medina 7-2 at Vets Park.
Hits by Sloan Jonathan and Elsie Logan highlighted the decisive late uprising for Akron which stays unbeaten at 5-0.
Alayna Smith had 2 hits for Medina which is now 1-3 in N-O action.
Wilson 11, Roy-Hart 10
Wilson outlasted Roy-Hart 11-10 as Lucy Madan and Lila Frerichs both had 3 hits and Rowan Simpson, Rian Faery and Cait Cliffe 2 each. Cliffe’s hits included a key two-run double in the fifth inning which broke an 8-8 deadlock.
Kaitlin Mettler, Hayley Hillburn and Lila Brigham each had 2 hits for Roy-Hart.
Wilson is now 3-1 and Roy-Hart 2-2.
Kendall 24, Elba 6
Kendall evened its Genesee Region League record at 2-2 with a 24-6 win over Elba.
Ella Christ had 4 hits, including triple and 4 RBI, Lauren Pilon 3, including a triple and 7 RBI, winning pitcher Danielle Offhaus 2, including a triple and 3 RBI, and Brooke Rodas 2, including a double and 2 RBI to lead the way.
Byron-Bergen 10, Lyndonville 2
Scoring three times in the first inning, Byron-Bergen went on to defeat Lyndonville 10-2 in a G-R contest.
Addison Dillenbeck and Kayli Miller each had a hit for Lyndonville.
N-O Tennis
Barker downed Wilson 5-1/2 to improve to 4-1 in N-O tennis action.
Matt Ryan, Levi Hauser and Daniel Goodwin all scored singles wins for the Raiders which also got doubles victories from the teams of Lucas DerSarkissian – Tommy Harris and Andrew Hillman – Cameron Hefferon.
