Barker nips Roy-Hart in OT in field hockey
Barker outlasted visiting Roy-Hart 2-1 in overtime this afternoon in Niagara-Orleans League field hockey action.
Ciara Gregoire scored the game winner for Barker with 3:52 to go in the overtime period off assists from Lydia Dewart and Grayce Weller.
Earlier, Barker grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first half on a goal by Katrina Clare.
However, Roy-Hart rallied to knot the contest on a second half goal by Shannon Dent.
Barker is now 8-2 and Roy-Hart 7-4.
Wilson 6, Kenmore 0
Maddie Mokarski scored 3 goals and Alex Seeley, Olivia Mitchell and Erin Boyle each netted 1 to lead Wilson (6-4) to a 6-0 victory over Kenmore (2-8)
Akron 1, Newfane 0
Defending champion Akron (10-0) clinched at least a tie for the title by nipping Newfane (2-9) 1-0 as Heather Cummings netted the lone goal off an assist from Abby Stone.
