The postseason pairings were officially announced this afternoon and Niagara-Orleans League champion Barker has earned the No. 1 seed for the upcoming Section VI Class C field hockey playoffs.

Barker claimed its 18th N-O championship by nipping Roy-Hart 1-0 in a regular season ending clash of co-leaders on Tuesday to earn the top seed. The Lady Raiders finished the N-O season at 11-1 while the Lady Rams, which are seeded No. 2 for the sectionals, wind up at 10-2.

Barker will host No. 8 Newfane (1-11) in the quarterfinals at 3:30 p.m. October 22. The Lady Raiders had to go into overtime to edge past the upset minded Lady Panther 3-2 in a late season N-O meeting.

Roy-Hart will host No. 7 Holland (4-12) at 3 p.m. on the 22nd.

The other quarterfinals on October 22 will have No. 5 Medina (7-5) vs. No. 4 Akron (8-4) at 4:30 p.m. at Medina’s Vets Park and No. 6 Wilson (4-8) at No. 3 Eden (9-5-2) at 6 p.m.

The semifinals are scheduled for 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. on October 24 at Clarence High School.

Last year Akron edged Barker 2-1 in the Class C finals.
