Barker house destroyed in fire this morning
BARKER – A residence in Barker at 2074 Carmen Rd. is a complete loss after a fire this morning, the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office is reporting.
Barker and Lyndonville firefighters were dispatched to the scene at 7:56 a.m. They arrived to find the house fully engulfed in flames.
The fire was subsequently extinguished by the responding fire companies. The structure consisted of the remnants of a residence that had gone unrepaired from a preceding fire in July 2018, the Sheriff’s Office said.
The property was unoccupied at the time of the most current fire and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. Investigation by the Niagara County Origin and Cause Team as well as the Niagara County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Bureau into the incident is continuing.
