Barker girls down Medina; Roy-Hart posts key win over Akron

Scoring in five different innings, Barker posted a 12-4 victory over Medina this afternoon in a Niagara-Orleans League softball game.

Erika Moeller hurled a 4 hitter with 14 strikeouts for Barker which improves to 4-7.

Barker took the lead for good by scoring three quick runs in the first inning highlighted by a two-run single by Ann Buffington.

The Lady Raiders also had a big four-run fourth inning featuring a two-run single by Destinee Hillman and an RBI double by Kylie Miller.

Mary Rounds had three hits on the day for Barker.

Destiny Satkowski had three hits, including a triple for Medina, which also got a triple by Alisha Scroger.

The loss drops Medina to 3-8.

In the JV game Medina defeated Barker 12-8.

Roy-Hart 9, Akron 6

Undefeated (11-0) Roy-Hart opened up a two game lead by downing runner-up Akron (9-2) 9-6.

Roy-Hart scored four quick runs in the first inning on a two-run triple by Ashley Bower, an RBI single by Maddy Glena and a sacrifice fly by Rachael Rausch.

The Lady Rams tacked on 2 more runs in the second inning on a solo home run by Lexie Lovewell and an RBI single by Kayla Brown.

Roy-Hart also got RBI singles by Maddie Fry in the third inning, Hannah Rausch in the fourth and Lindsay Yates in the sixth.

Lovewell and Taylor Fry both finished with 3 hits as Glena, Brown and Yates each added two.

Akron pounded out four home runs including a two-run shot by Brooke Peters and a solo blast by Kayla Thomas in the second inning, a solo shot by Shay Carberry in the fourth and another solo blast by Abby Stone in the fifth.

CSAT 7, Albion 2

Natalie DiCureia had 4 hits and Ellen Narburgh registered 7 strikeouts in the circle for Albion in the Purple Eagles (2-9) 7-2 loss at CSAT (1-8).

Newfane 14, Wilson 5

Newfane pounded out 8 hits to score 9 runs in the third inning to key a 14-5 victory over rival Wilson.

Olivia Littman had 3 hits and Gabby Sinnott and Alexa Littman 2 each for Newfane as they each drove in a pair of runs.

Newfane is now 7-3 and Wilson 6-5.

Lyndonville sweeps twin bill

Lyndonville swept to a doubleheader victory over visiting Wheatland-Chili by scores of 10-3 and 14-3 in Genesee Region League action.

Rebekah Hoffee hurled a 1 hitter with 8 strikeouts om the first game as Kaitlyn Albone banged out 3 hits and Morgan Hungerford drove in 2 runs.

Albone also hit 2 home rue in the second game and Jenna Doran had 3 hits including a double.

Pembroke 8, Kendall 4

Pembroke scored all 8 of its runs in the first two innings to earn an 8-4 win over visiting Kendall in a Genesee Region League game.

Kali Haskins and Sarah Pearson both had RBI singles for Kendall which also got hits from Chelsea Wright, Kacey Menge, Taylor Kingsbury and Hannah Evans.
