Barker field hockey squad blanks Medina

A pair of late first half goals earned Barker a 2-0 victory over Medina this afternoon in a Niagara-Orelans League field hockey game at Vets Park.
In the other N-O contests, Akron blanked Kenmore and Roy-Hart shutout Newfane by the identical score of 5-0.

Ciara Gregoire scored what proved to be the game winner for Barker with 12 minutes to go in the first half. Grayce Weller then added an insurance tally for the Lady Raiders with just 59 seconds remaining in the half.
Barker is now 2-1 and Medina 1-3.
Roy-Hart 5, Newfane
Delany Draper scored the three goal hat-trick to lead the attack for Roy-Hart which also included tallies by Alexis Lovewell and Angelina Ciarfella.
Roy-Hart, which led 2-0 at the half, improves to 4-0 while Newfane slips to 0-4.
Akron 5, Kenmore 0
Abby Enfield scored 2 goals while Julia Diebel, Heather Cummings and Kayla Wdowka each chipped in with 1 to power Akron past Kenmore.
Defending champion Akron is now 3-0 and Kenmore 1-2.
