Barker duo earns first team All-WNY field hockey honors

Barker, which captured the Niagara-Orleans League, Section VI Class C and Far West Regional titles, has placed two players, Olivia Denny and Heather Mason, both seniors, on the first team of the annual All-Western New York field hockey squad.
Barker junior Melissa Grosshans also earned second team honors.
The N-O is also represented on the first team by the Kenmore senior sister duo of Kaeli and Brianna Mathias and Akron senior Claudia Stone.
Akron eighth grader Abigail Stone earned second team honors.
Mason scored 10 goals this season and Denny six for Barker’s balanced attack.
Claudia Stone led the N-O in goals with 20 while Kaeli Mathias netted 18.
