Barker diamond squad has thin numbers

A quartet of veterans will anchor the lineup for the Barker varsity baseball team which will begin tuning up for the Niagara-Orleans League season by hosting a pair of non league contests late this week.
The Raiders are scheduled to host Lyndonville at 4:30 p.m. Friday and Holley at noon on Saturday.
Leading the Raiders will be the veteran foursome of senior Aidan Voss (pitcher/catcher/shortstop), junior Charlie LaGreca (outfield/pitcher) and sophomores Isaac Monaco (shortstop/pitcher) and Noah Sandolfini (catcher/pitcher/second base). Voss earned second team N-O All-League honors last spring.
Newcomer JJ Prynn looks to man an outfield spot for the Raiders where low numbers are again a problem this season.
“Right now we have nine so we’ll see how far nine can take us,” said Coach Rob Mucha.
The Raiders are scheduled to open the N-O season on April 17 at Newfane.
