Barker completes field hockey sweep in Pa.

The Barker field hockey team completed an impressive sweep in Pennsylvania by defeating host Upper St. Clair 3-2 today.

Barker grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first half as Lena Fazzolari scored off an assist from Jillian Moeller.

The Lady Raiders then locked up the win on a pair of second half goals by Katrina Clare off assists first from Haleigh Mason and then from Casey A’Hearn.

Barker opened the two game Pennsylvania swing by nipping host Mt. Lebanon 3-2 in overtime Friday on two goals by Natalie Menz and one by Rachel Hurtgam.

The Lady Raiders, which improve to 4-1, next host Roy-Hart (4-0) in a key Niagara-Orleans League game on Monday.

Medina places 3rd at Starpoint Tournament
Medina tied for third place honors at the Starpoint Tournament today.

The Mustangs went 4-2 in the pool portion of the tourney defeating Roy-Hart and splitting with both Lake Shore and Lew-Port.

Akron then downed Medina in the semifinals.

Je’ne Brown, who was named to the All-Tournament team, had 10 spiking kills for Medina as Camri King added 13 digs, Grace Masse 15 assists, Maddie Williams 11 digs and Alyssa Beyer 8 digs.
