Barker cagers top Kendall in opener

Moving on top to stay with a big second quarter scoring edge, Barker went on to defeat host Kendall 53-42 this evening in a season opening non league boys basketball game.

Trailing 9-6 after one quarter, Barker rallied to outpoint Kendall 14-6 in the second period to rally into a 20-15 halftme advantage.

Nathan Luckman and Randall Wasnock both hit three’s to highlight the Raiders big quarter which also included baskets by Jacob Arnold, Jared Ginther, Kyle Secore and Michael Snell.

Sparked by a nine point scoring burst by Jacob Ramsdell, Kendall did cut the deficit to one, 34-33, at the three-quarter mark but the Eagles would get no closer.

Wasnock had three baskets while Luckman and Snell both hit threes in the period to keep Barker on top.

The Raiders put a lock on the victory by outscoring Kendall 19-9 in the final stanza as Secore scored 9 and Luckman 7.

Luckman finished with 17, Wasnock 14 and Secore 11 as Snell added 5, Arnold 4 and Ginther 2.

Ramsdell shared game high honors for Kendall with 17 as Brandon Miller added 10, Collin Lewis and Nathan Warters 5, Colton Breslawski 3 and James Longrod 2.

Barker next hosts Elba at 6:30 p.m. Thursday and Kendall visits Lyndonville at 7 p.m. Friday.
