Looking to end a 35 year plus title drought, league leading Barker hosts runner-up Medina at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in a key Niagara-Orleans League boys basketball game.

Barker, which has roared out to a perfect 10-0 league, 14-0 overall record, can clinch at least a tie for the N-O title with a win over surging Medina, which is 8-2 in league action and 11-3 overall.

The championship would be the first for Barker since 1978 when the Raiders captured the Genesee Region League title. The Raiders have not claimed an N-O title since the 1940’s.

Medina, which needs a win to stay in the title chase by cutting the Barker lead to one game, brings a six game winning streak into the showdown contest. In fact, the Mustangs last loss was a 68-47 drubbing by Barker at Medina.

Barker is sparked by a quartet of returning starters led by senior Jacob Haight who is the Raiders career scoring leader with over 1,200 points. Haight is averaging 17.5 points, 9.8 rebounds, 4.3 steals and 4.3 assists per game.

The Raiders also have senior guard Mitch Luckman averaging 15.4 points, junior guard Christopher Sweeney 10.7 points and 6-5 senior center Bryce Moeller 9.2 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.8 blocks.

Medina is led by 6-5 senior Munjie Brown who is averaging a double-double of 15.4 point and 10.9 rebounds as well as 3.5 steals per outing.

The Mustangs also have three-point shooter Dylan Lewis averaging 12.8 points, Jason Hellwig 7.9, Ben McPherson 7.1 and Kevin Arnold 6.9.
