Barker boys score wins in five events at N-O All-League swim championships

Contributed Photo – These 11 swimmers all had a hand in winning at least one event at today’s annual Niagara-Orleans All-League Boys Individual Swim Championships. They include Collin Stevener, Ian Goodlander, Andrew Jenks and Collin Webb from Barker; Mason Sparks, Nathan Mikoll, Elliott Spitzer and Tanner Rees from Roy-Hart; Andrew Hamelink and Thomas Schultz from Newfane and Chase Pecoraro from Medina.

Barker swimmers took first place honors in five of 11 events at the annual Niagara-Orleans All-League Boys Individual Swim Championships held this evening at Akron.

The Raiders quartet of Collin Stevener, Ian Goodlander, Andrew Jenks and Collin Webb won both the 200 Medley Relay (1:50.25) and the 200 Freestyle Relay (1:34.17).

Webb also took first place honors in both the 50 Free (:22.56) and 100 Free (:49.98) while Stevener also won the 100 Butterfly (1:03.63).

Jenks also took a second in the 500 Free for the Raiders.

Roy-Hart’s quartet of Mason Sparks, Nathan Mikoll, Elliott Spitzer and Tanner Rees took top honors in the 400 Free Relay (3:32.32).

Sparks also won the 200 Free (1:59.44).

Rees placed second in both the Individual Medley and Breaststroke for the Channel Cats as did Spitzer in the 100 Free.

Newfane’s Andrew Hamelink was a double winner in the 200 Individual Medley (2:05.85) and the 100 Breaststroke (1:00.72) while his Panthers teammate Thomas Schultz won the 500 Free (5:30.25).

Medina’s Chase Pecoraro won the 100 Backstroke (1:00.72) and placed second in the 50 Free. The Seahorses in fact went 1-2 in the Backstroke as Daniel Heil placed second.
