Barker boys score sweep in N-O cross-country

Barker defeated visiting Medina 28-31 and Roy-Hart 19-43 this afternoon to improve to 5-1 in Niagara-Orleans League boys cross-country competition.

Medina earned a split by downing Roy-Hart 23-36  to go to 3-3.

Medina’s Daniel Heil won the race in 17:02. His Mustang teammates, Aidan Cayea and Jack Hill, finished 4-5.

Barker’s Peter DiLorenzo finished second and Roy-Hart’s Ozzy Moore third.

In the girls race, Roy-Hart scored a sweep downing Barker 22-33 and Medina 18-37..

Medina again earned a split by besting Barker 27-30.

Roy-Hart’s Anna Rickard won the race and her teammate Kelsey Cimeny finished third.

Barker’s duo of Gabby Baker and Serina Harris finished 2-4.

The Newfane boys stayed perfect at 6-0 by defeating Wilson 21-38 and Akron 16-45.  Wilson bested Akron 21-40 in the other portion of the meet to improve to 4-2.

Newfane’s Sam Auernhamer won the race and his Panther teammates Colin McCabe and Allen Lingle finished 2-5.

Wilson was led by the 3-4 finish of William Schurzmuller and Nathanal Johnson.

The Newfane girls likewise stayed unbeaten at 6-0 by defeating Wilson 15-48 and Akron 20-39.
Akron improved to 4-2 by downing Wilson 21-38.

Akron’s Margo Henley won the race but the rest of the top five belonged to Newfane with the 2-5 finish of Kim Goerss, Vanessa Burkard, Nina Burkhard and Lydia Chunco.
