Barker and Akron post N-O softball wins
Barker romped past Newfane 23-0 and Akron shutout Medina 13-0 in Niagara-Orleans League softball action this afternoon.
Improving to 7-2, Barker stays within a half game of front running Akron which is now 7-1.
Natalie Brandel hurled a two hitter with 8 strikeouts for Barker.
Mia Herman had 4 hits, including a double and triple, and Anna Bowerman 3 for the Lady Raiders which had a total of 23 hits.
Elise Logan had 3 hits, including a double and a grand slam home run, for Akron. Mary Diggs chipped in with 3 hits, including a double, as Sloan Jonathan and Ashlee Henning each had 2.
Eva Lacy had a double for Medina.
N-O Tennis
Barker 4, Wilson 1 1/2
Improving to 7-4, Barker downed Wilson 4-1 1/2 in an N-O tennis match this afternoon.
Barker got singles wins from Matt Ryan and Daniel Goodwin as well as doubles victories from the teams of Lucas DerSarkissian – Tommy Harris and Andrew Hillman – Cameron Hefferon.
