Barker 1 sets pace in field hockey league
Barker 1 picked up a win and a tie Monday in the Barker 7 on 7 Summer Field Hockey League competition.
Barker 1 tied Medina 3-3 as Lena Fazzolari scored 2 goals and Ella Gooding 1. Lyla Lilleby scored 2 and Mary Flores 1 for Medina. Anna Bowerman made several key saves in goal for Barker 1.
Barker 1 then defeated Roy-Hart 7-0 as Kaedynce Schumacher scored 2 goals and Sophia Gerhardt, Gooding, Ella Fox, Bowerman and Addison Szafranski each netted 1.
The other game saw Barker 2 downed Roy-Hart 12-1 as Madilyn Detschner scored 5 goals, Brianna Bachman 3, Ciara Gregoire 2 and Serena Harris and Natalie Bruning 1 each. Cheyenne Stillwell scored for Roy-Hart.
After the league’s first two week’s Detschner and Abby Blount (Medina) share in the scoring lead with 5 goals as Flores has 4 and Bachman, Stillwell and Braelin Taylor (Medina) 3 each.
Barker 1 is now 2-0-1 (7 points), Medina 2-0-1 (7 pts.), Barker 2 1-2-0 (3 pts.) and Roy-Hart 0-3-0.
