Banes wins Women’s League opener
Scoring at least three runs in four different innings, Banes Machine Shop/Banes Plumbing defeated Albion Vets/Hartway Motors 15-8 Monday in the Medina Women’s Softball League season opener.
Connie Heschke, Sue Seefeldt and Kathy Quackenbush each had 3 hits and Jen Masse 2 triples to lead the offense for Banes.
Banes scored 3 quick runs in the first inning on singles by Heschke, Seefeldt, Robin Blaun and Quackenbush.
Triples by Masse highlighted 4 run scoring bursts in both the second and sixth innings. Kristin Guild and Patti Page both added singles in the second inning while Alisha Foss had a double and Heschke and Seefeldt singles in the sixth. Danielle Erway also banged out a double to cap a 4 run fourth frame.
Albion Vets/Hartway Motors scored 4 runs in the fourth inning and 3 in the sixth.
