Banes, White Birch score ‘A’ league wins

Two big scoring innings powered Banes to a 17-7 win over previously unbeaten Jr. Wilson in a Medina Women’s Softball ‘A’ League game Monday evening.

Banes erupted for 9 runs in the fourth inning on singles by Kathy Allen, Jami Chatt, Grace Capstick, Lindsay Chatt, Robin Blaun and a double by Morgan Allis.

Keeping the momentum, Banes tacked on 6 more runs in the fifth to extend the lead to 17-5. Lindsey Chatt had a triple and Connie Heschke and Capstick doubles to highlight that uprising which also included singles by Morgan Allis, Jen Masse, Sue Seefeldt, Blaun and Allen.

Heschke, Lindsey Chatt, Morgan Allis and Capstick all finished with 3 hits. Heschke had 2 doubles.

Banes is now 2-2.

In the other game, White Birch nipped Poler’s Pub 15-14 on a walk off single by Aubrey Lewis in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Aubrey Lewis and Kenzie Muck both had 4 hits for White Birch as Ella Lewis, Maddy Boyle and Mallory Albone each had 3; Grace Johnson, Rebekah Hoffee, Brynn Howell and Dana Siffringer 2 and Anna Lewis 1. Ella Lewis and Aubrey Lewis both had triple and Howell a double.

Halle Deuil had 5 hits, Melissa Prince 4 and Alishia Foss and Jean Swiercznski 3 for Poler’s Pub. Deuil had 2 doubles and Lindsey Ward 1.
