Banes sweeps twin bill to improve to 10-0
Staying perfect on the season at 10-0, Banes Machine Shop/Banes Plumbing swept to a doubleheader victory over Medina VFW by scores of 8-6 and 17-4 Monday in Medina Women’s Softball League action.
A big five run first inning ignited Banes in the opener as Jen Masse had a double and Connie Heschke, Sue Seefeldt, Kathy Allen, Jami Chatt and Lindsay Chatt all banged out singles.
Jami Chatt and Amy Allis then had singles to key a two-run second inning.
In the second game, Banes erased a 4-3 deficit by erupting for seven runs in the fourth inning on a double by Allen and singles by Sarah Surdel, Heschke, Seefeldt and Jami Chatt.
Banes latex closed out the win with a big six run seventh inning as Heschke, Masse, Allen, Jami Chatt and Allis all had hits.
Masse, Heschke and Jami Chatt all finished the evening with 4 hits.
